Folks, apologies for being under the weather so much the last few weeks. I’ve had a nasty bug that has been after me for a long time. I hope to be coming out the other side, finally!

This weekend, I thought I’d share some music from some of my favorite pianists, so here goes:

First up, Joe Bongiorno has hosted many concerts from his home online, and this is one of his songs I enjoy as he performs live:

Yesterday, I started off with videos of some of  my favorite musicians. Today, I’m going to continue that theme and highlight even more of my favorites!

I recently did an entry about Joe Bongiorno from Seattle, Washington. I came across his music on the web, and again, it was love at first listen. Not long ago, he invited fans to attend an online concert he and some of his fellows were holding at his home, and I was happy to get home from work just in time to attend. It was great fun, the music was superb, and it helped me get to the end of a busy work week.  Here’s one of his great songs, “Tears Of Joy.” He’s actually performing the song from the same location he was in during his recent concert:

It’s the first Monday in May as I write this, and the temperatures sure feel like Summer! Personally, I love this season most of all even though I am a big Christmas/Holiday Season fan as well. The warm weather makes me want to do more, not less. Cold weather makes me stay inside and look for less adventurous things to do.

I’ve already listened to my “Summer Songs” playlist on my iPod several times. It includes many tunes I never hear on the radio anymore, including “In The Summertime” by Mungo Jerry, “Summer” by War, the recent remix of “Summer Breeze,” “The Boys Of Summer” by Don Henley, “Summer Rain” by Belinda Carlyle, “Sunshine On My Shoulders” by John Denver, “Summer’s Child” by David Lanz, “Summertime Blues” by Eddie Cochran, “Those Lazy, Hazy, Crazy Days Of Summer” by Nat King Cole, “Saturday In The Park” by Chicago, and “Summer Of ’69” by Bryan Adams.

MusicOne of the things I enjoy doing most is making my own “mixes” of music, and I usually do that by a theme. For instance, I have ten playlists of holiday/Christmas music, nine of pop songs I like, favorites of performers I particularly enjoy, Halloween and patriotic music.

It’s Raining Again is in my “Stormy/Rainy Weather” list. And as I write this, it is raining outside.

Currently, my favorite artists include Enya, Jim Brickman, Jim Chappell, Jon Schmidt, Mannheim Steamroller, David Lanz and Bryce Miller. I have always enjoyed what is now called “New Age,” so I listen to a lot of piano and vocal songs these days. I used to enjoy pop, but I don’t see many new songs I like by artists I prefer coming out these days. So I depend on the web and Facebook to keep me up to date on my guys and gals.
