I was recently chastised for calling women “ladies,” which I thought was a term of respect, by the hosts of the Women In Sci-Fi podcast, so women it is! (Check out their podcast via iTunes!)

I liked this song a lot from Vanessa Williams called “1,000 Miles.” I thought for a change I’d use a video that only has the lyrics, which can be a little hard to hear:
One singer I’m glad has been experiencing a comeback of late is Olivia Newton-John, who did a song called “Heart Attack” that I liked a lot. Here is the video:

I have to wrap up this tribute to the women of song with my all-time favorite, Karen Carpenter, as she sings, “I Won’t Last A Day Without You.” I still miss and love that wonderful voice:
